CURRICULUM DEPARTMENT   545-2367
The Curriculum Department serves the needs of the teachers and administrators of the Long County School System by providing the services and support to enable our teachers to provide the best educational program possible for all children.  Schools are assigned content area specialists in the major subject areas to provide support, resources, and professional development for our teachers.

Georgia Performance Standards outline state requirements for your child's learning program and what students across the state should be able to do in certain subjects.  Performance standards are useful for making sure:
  • teachers know what is to be taught;
  • children know what is to be learned; and
  • parents can determine how well the concepts are being learned.

For more information on subject area performance standards visit the link:    http://www.georgiastandards.org
