The Long County School Systems Athletic Department will provide opportunities for participants to compete as an extension of academics in a competitive and wholesome environment. LCSS Athletics will emphasize the promotion of life skills, citizenship, cooperation and work ethic in an interscholastic environment.

Gender Equity

Long County School System has adopted a Gender Equity policy that prohibits discrimination on the basis of gender.

"Gender equity is an atmosphere and a reality where fair distribution of overall athletic

opportunity and resources are proportionate to enrollment, are available to women and

men, and where no student-athletic, coach, or athletic administrator is discriminated

against in any way in the athletic program on the basis of gender."

Insurance

The Long County School System is not responsible for hospital or doctor bills contracted due to accidents that happen on school premises. However, students are given the opportunity to enroll in one of the several accident benefit plans which cover accidents at school and school-sponsored activities.

Preparticipation Physical Evaluation

All players must have a current physical in order to participate in any school sport. The physical form can be downloaded here or picked up from either the high school or middle school athletic directors.
